MIŠKA IN LJUBLJANA & 7 THINGS THAT MAY SURPRISE YOU

You probably know that Ljubljana is the capital of Slovenia, a small country in the south of Europe. But I'll tell you some interesting things that may be not that well known ;).

Asi viete, že Ľubľana je hlavným mestom Slovinska, ktoré je mimochodom neuveriteľne zaujímavou krajinou, ktorá určite stojí za návštevu. Minimálne jeden dôvod nájdete v mojom príspevku o jazere Bled v slovinských Alpách :). Čo ma však prekvapilo v Ľubľane?

1. Ljubljanica river | Rieka Ľubľanica

A river flowing through the hearth of a city is always a nice place to relax. The river in Ljubljana is definitely one of those places where you can wander alongside its bank and enjoy picturesque views.

Keď preteká rieka cez mesto, tak sa z toho takmer vždy vytvorí príjemné miesto na relax. Ani Ľubľana nie je výnimkou, môžte sa prechádzať popri Ľubľanici a užívať si malebné pohľady ako z pohľadnice!

2. Green | Zeleň

When you walk a little bit away from the city centre, you'll see so much green around you! Everywhere was a lot of trees and the river itself seemed to be more greener than in the centre, where it looked more gray. Maybe if you are from a town where it is usual, you won't be surprised but in Bratislava, we don't have so much green near the oldtown.

Keď sa prejdete kúsok ďalej od centra, zistíte, že všade okolo vás je zeleň a kopec stromov, čo samozrejme pridávalo na atmosfére celého mesta, ktorá bola veľmi uvoľnená.

3. Shoes | Topánky

When in the Ljubljana's city centre, you will definitely notice shoes hanging from above! I think it's unique, at least I haven't seen something like that in any other city. I tried to find out what those shoes mean, but haven't learned anything, it's probably just a decoration for tourists.

V centre si určite všimnete topánky len tak si visiace na šnúrach natiahnutých ponad ulice! Myslím, že toto je jednoznačne unikát, aký sa len tak niekde inde nevidí :D. Skúšala som nájsť nejaký hlbší význam tohto, ale nenašla nič, a tak predpokladám, že je to asi len dekoratívna atrakcia pre turistov :).

4. Art | Umenie

It's not just the shoes. We can find different forms of art in whole Ljubljana.

V Ľubľane nejde len o topánky, rôzne formy umenia možno vidieť takmer všade.

5. Ljubljana Dragon | Ľubľanský Drak

Dragon is the symbol of the city as it represents, according to Wikipedia, power, courage and greatness. You can see the dragon on the top of the tower of the castle, on the Dragon bridge and also in the Ljubljana's coat-of-arms.

Drak, reprezentujúci silu, odvahu a veľkosť, je symbolom mesta, ktorý nájdeme nielen v erbe, ale aj na dračom moste a na veži Ľubľanského hradu.

6. Ljubljana Castle | Ľubľanský hrad

You can get to the top really comfortably with a funicular railway. Although the castle seemed to be not a huge one, the views from the top are really worthy and besides the city, you can see also the Slovenian Alps.

Na hrad sa dostanete veľmi pohodlne lanovkou a aj keď v rozlohe nevyniká, užijete si z neho krásny výhľad nielen na mesto, ale aj na slovinské Alpy.

7. How is everything near from Ljubljana | Ako je všetko z Ľubľany blízko

It's not just about Ljubljana but more about Slovenia as the country is small but offers everything you could ask for. You can get from here to both, the Alps and also the Adriatic sea in just an hour of drive. A perfect place to live, don't you think? ;)

Tento bod sa týka viac menej Slovinska ako krajiny, ale aj polohy jeho hlavného mesta. Do Álp, ako aj k Jadranského moru sa dostanete z Ľubľany autom len za hodinu! No nie je to mesto perfektné? :)
